Specna Arms Edge series machine guns are characterized by their emphasis on realistic workmanship. This is mainly due to the materials used - most of the gun is made of steel (body, bipod, pins, transport handle, barrel change mechanism and trigger guard). The metal parts such as the flash hider, sights, barrel cooler, outer barrel, trigger guard, dust cover, visor and stock slide are made of metal. Pistol grip, vertical grip and stock are plastic. However, the use of steel brings with it, in addition to the realism of the workmanship, a higher durability of the material compared to ZnAl alloy.

The machine gun also features a barrel change system, a bipod, and most importantly a quick-change spring system. This takes literally seconds, when it is enough to remove the pin, pull the stock latch and pull the spring mandrel together with the spring through the hole in the mechabox. This allows the gun to be adjusted on the spot to the performance requirements that most large courses apply.

Mechabox type M249 is known for its high reliability and durability. There is indeed a lot of room for possible upgrades so that the user can provide more effective fire support to his teammates. The hop-up chamber is a conventional rotating metal, steel wheels are commonplace these days. The bearings are 8mm ball bearings, the piston is steel toothed. Regular AR-15 magazines can be used instead of box magazines. This variant also features RIS rails on the dust cover, which can be used to mount a variety of equipment.
