Airsofr flashlights for rifles

Rifle flashlights are known for their relatively high power. These flashlights are able to reach several hundred meters with a bright light. This ability gives us a good overview of what is happening in the area around us.
However, the higher power output is associated with increased flashlight heating. Therefore, we must be careful not to burn ourselves on the hot front of the flashlight or in case of unintentional switching on, for example in the trunk or packaging, to avoid a nasty accident.

What to look for when choosing a flashlight for an airsoft gun?

When choosing, it is important to ask yourself a few questions:

  • How far do I want to use the flashlight? CQB, woods, possibly an extremely powerful searchlight.
  • What all modes of light do I realistically need? Flashlights can have various additional features besides the classic light such as Stroboscopic mode (strobe), Zoomable beam, black light mode and so on. But I don't necessarily need to have all modes.
  • How can I mount the flashlight on the gun? For example, on guns without RIS rails, we often have to mount the flashlight directly to the barrel. That's when it's a good idea to see if this special mounting rail is available for my type of flashlight.
  • What accessories do I need for my flashlight and are they made for my type of flashlight? On long guns most players need remote pressure switches, these can differ for example by connector.
  • What durability standards should the flashlight meet? Sure, the more brutal the standard the flashlight meets the more tactical "immortal" it will be, but we have to remember that the vast majority of airsoft players play in good weather, and only for a few hours at a time, or that an airsoft gun has no recoil. But yes, those who are prepared are not surprised ;)

Once you have the answers to all these questions, the subsequent choice of a flashlight will be much easier and you can save a lot of money on a poorly chosen flashlight and a subsequent new purchase, or even on the contrary, you will find, that the usual cheap gun flashlight is enough.

Our tip:
What is a candela? What are lumens and how many lumens are ideal for my application? Or what all modes do flashlights have and what are they for? You can read all this and more in our guide to the world of flashlights in the category of Flashlights for guns.

As for the battery inside the flashlight, it is advisable to follow the manufacturer's recommendations and use batteries directly from the manufacturer. This will ensure compatibility, and such batteries are made for strong long-term loads when discharging and charging. It is ideal to have a built-in charging connector directly in the body of the battery, but it is not a requirement. As with other tactical goods, the best option for flashlights is to test the model in a shop.

Most tactical flashlights have a metal body to protect the flashlight from impact. If you are considering buying a combo with a pressure switch, we recommend testing the flashlight in conjunction with the switch to verify its functionality and compatibility. You can find classic pressure switches or double pressure switches in combination with ANEQ connector in the flashlight accessories.

Which manufacturer to choose for my airsoft flashlight?

In general, Fenix is considered the best manufacturer of gun flashlights. Fenix produces very durable and high quality flashlights, and the price tag of these lights corresponds accordingly.
Another very durable manufacturer is Vector Optic, which has flashlights designed for sharp weapons, so they are very oversized for airsoft.
The most popular flashlights recently for airsoft are those from WADSN, which offers many models of both flashlights and PEQs or accessories. WADSN is also used by a substantial majority of the Actionshop team.
