Cables / Connectors for airsoft

Upgrading your AEG with high-quality wiring and connectors is one of the smartest ways to boost performance. Better wiring ensures higher motor efficiency and can slightly extend your battery life. Here you’ll find everything from adapters, wires, connectors, insulators. From robust T-DEANs to small fastons for motors. Ideal for anyone upgrading their gearbox, rewiring a replica, or looking for reliable spares.

If you're planning to rewire your replica or upgrade your connectors, it's important to understand the differences between connector types and choose the right one for your needs.

T-DEAN connector

T-Dean - The most widely used modern airsoft connector. Two flat pins set at a right angle provide a tight, low-resistance connection. Requires soldering. Often used when upgrading from Mini Tamiya.

Continuous current: 50A

Max current: 70A

Peak short-term: 100A

Housing material: High-temp nylon

Mini Tamiya connector

Mini Tamiya is historically the most common connector in airsoft. Features a locking latch and mismatched pin shapes (square and round) to prevent reverse polarity. No soldering required—wires are crimped.

Continuous current: 10A

Max current: 15A

Peak short-term: 30A

Housing material: ABS

Tamiya Connector

Tamiya conenctor -Mostly seen in older RC models. Rarely used in airsoft due to its size and identical performance to Mini Tamiya.

Continuous current: 10A

Max current: 15A

Peak short-term: 30A

Housing material: Likely ABS

XT60

XT60 connector - Not commonly used in airsoft, but a promising alternative to T-DEAN. Offers very low resistance and solid connection. Requires soldering, protective cap included. At one point, XT60 was expected to replace T-DEAN, but widespread adoption never occurred.

Continuous current: 50A

Max current: 60A

Peak short-term: 180A

Housing material: High-temp nylon

Wiring for Airsoft AEGs

Choosing the right wire gauge is crucial. For most AEG setups, 1.5 mm copper wire with silicone insulation is ideal. Avoid 1.0 mm for high-performance builds—it may overheat and lacks durability. For heavy-duty builds (support guns or powerful DMRs), go for 2.5 mm wire. For signal wires (MOSFETs or control units), 0.5 mm² wire is sufficient.

Adapters & Reductions

Need to connect a battery with a different plug than your gun or charger? That’s where adapters come in.

JST adapters

We also offer JST adapters —a must-have for HPA users. Systems like PolarStar use JST connectors, and with these adapters, you can connect a standard battery (e.g. T-DEAN) to your HPA-powered gun.

Pro tip: Always carry a backup adapter to events. You never know when your main battery fails or someone offers a spare—Murphy’s Law says it’ll have the wrong plug.
