An airsoft hop-up rubber band is a small rubber or, more often, silicone piece at the beginning of the barrel, which, thanks to its effect on the upper part of the BB using a pressure segment, creates a backward rotation of the airsoft BB when it exits the barrel. This phenomenon counteracts gravity, resulting in greater range and better accuracy of the weapon, as the BB has a flatter flight trajectory.
