Airsoft Handstops BIG DRAGON

Handstop is a small ergonomic support that is installed on the handguard of the weapon. It is used to improve grip control and handling of the weapon, especially during rapid movement and shooting. Handstops - as the translation suggests, prevent the hand from slipping on the barrel, thus increasing safety and stability when aiming. Compared to grips, handstops are smaller, lighter and do not interfere with the natural grip of the gun.

Airsoft Handstops BIG DRAGON

What is a handstop?

Handstops are simple, small accessories installed on the forearm of a handgun to stop the hand from moving forward or backward depending on the style of grip.
A handstop is used on shorter guns to prevent the shooter's hand from slipping off the forearm in front of the muzzle and resulting injury.
For this reason, PDWs such as the MP7 and P90 have handstops built into the design of the gun body.
Many airsoft players choose handstops because they prefer the traditional grip of a rifle, but also want to speed up the transfer from target to target, which comes in handy when shooting multiple opponents. Handstops are also used on pump shotguns, where they allow for safer and faster pump control by allowing the shooter to keep their hand firmly on the forearm.
Handstops don't have to be just a piece of some sort of molded material. They can also be useful accessories, for example, for guiding flashlight cables, or we can see models that combine both a classic handstop and a pressure switch for controlling a tactical flashlight.

Is a handle or a handstop suitable for you?

There are a number of advantages and disadvantages for each type of handstop. There is no doubt that both options will help to improve the ergonomics of your weapon and improve your grip. Whether you're looking to replicate a military weapon with an advanced grip, or you're planning to build a race special, or you're looking to improve the ergonomics of your existing weapon, one or the other option certainly won't do you any harm.
While both types have their merits, it's important to determine in advance what kind of weapon we'll be building and how we'll be using our final weapon once we're done building it, whether as a CQB weapon or a mid-range combat weapon, and decide accordingly. Of course, since airsoft guns are basically like building blocks, feel free to experiment with different grip types as you see fit until you find the exact model that best suits you and your gun. In short, if you want to disrupt the overall look of your gun as little as possible, a handstop is ideal. Otherwise, your best bet is to try out multiple grip types.

So which accessories are best for building your gun? You have to answer that question for yourself.

Types of gun mounting methods

As with classic grips, the most common grips you'll see are KeyMod, M-LOK and RIS mounts.
