History of Field Blouses

In the early 20th century, many European armies updated their uniforms to more subdued colors and practical designs, introducing field blouses made of serge with concealed button closures. These changes aimed to distinguish and standardize military forces. Significant uniform developments occurred during the World Wars, driven by the need for differentiation, camouflage, protection, and representation. 

Further developments began during World War II, when the uniform presented the entire army. The need to distinguish oneself and show one's strength was made possible by this clothing. The army needed to motivate the soldiers, to inspire in them the desire to be uniformed, to offer them some insight into their world.

     

Modern advancements focus on lightweight and functional designs, with armies adhering to established patterns and utilizing contemporary materials for enhanced durability and utility.

 

Materials Used in Blouses

Most blouses in our selection are made with a high cotton content blended with polyester, typically 65% cotton and 35% polyester, often featuring Ripstop reinforcement for added durability.

Cotton

Polyester

What is Ripstop?

Ripstop is a specialized weaving technique that integrates thicker threads into the fabric at regular intervals, creating a grid pattern visible to the naked eye. This design prevents small tears from spreading, significantly enhancing the material's durability. In the event of a rip, the structure of Ripstop fabric halts further damage, making it ideal for rugged activities.
